The China Tug of War Association has extended an invitation to clubs for 2 tug of war events taking place in China this October. The first Tournament will provide a total prize money of 6,000USD, split between the Top 6 finishing teams. The local organising committee will provide accommodation and local transportation for all the participating teams(from 13 to 17 Oct), but the cost of flights must be paid for by the teams travelling. The Country Club Tug of War Team will be hosting the 2018 British & Irish Indoor Tug of War Championships on behalf of the Northern Ireland Tug of War Association, on the 9th – 11th Feb 2018.
They have planned a full programme over 2 days for Males, Females and Youth’s and would be delighted to see if a maximum number of teams could attend.
All clubs registered by the 1st Feb 2018 will receive a special commemorative plaque.
If possible could all clubs please book as early as possible. The primary facilities that will be used will have limited numbers.

The final event in this years domestic Outdoor calendar was held on Sunday at the Tullow Agricultural Show in Tullow, Co. Carlow. Round 5 of the National Outdoor Championship Series saw reigning Champions G&B successfully defend their 640kg title, defeating Mountain View in the Senior Final. Its been an up and down season for the club and following on from last years huge success was always going to be a difficult task. But they came back strongly from the disappointment in the World Games to win their 2nd title of the year, to add to the 720kg they won in Round 1 and they also took gold in the days other event, the Open 560kg. In the Novice division, GnaC finished out the season by winning the clubs 2nd Novice title in row.
Mountain Views fantastic season continued last Sunday at the 60th Annual Arva Show, when the club won both the National 600kg Championship and Open 680kg event. In doing so, they have become the only team to win multiple National Championships this year. With only 1 round of the National Outdoor Series left, Mountain View are on course to finish 2017 as the top outdoor club. GnaC won the clubs 1st outdoor title when they defeated Loughmore in the Novice final.
The 2nd round of the open youths league competition was contested by Ballinagh, GnaC, the Grove and Ballinastoe. The Grove came out on top of this round, ahead of Ballinagh, GnaC and Ballinastoe. That leaves The Grove sitting clear on top of the Continue reading
The final of the National Outdoor League was ran last Saturday by the Northern Ireland Tug of War Association, in what was a first all island partnership between the ITOWA and NITOWA. It was hosted by the Country Club at the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum, in the centre of Enniskillen, beside Lough Erne. Most of the top teams from North and South were in attendance to take part in a very high standard of competition. The facilities were superb, with an excellent weigh-in and pulling area. The fixtures for this years National Indoor Championship Series have been added to the Fixtures & Events page. Some venues are yet to be finalised, but will be updated once confirmed. Ladies and youths fixtures are yet to be confirmed.
Following a unanimous decision by the National Executive Committee, the following rule is now in place from today, 16/07/2017:
“With immediate effect, no club member may affiliate to a new club, or move to an existing club, that is outside of the province that the club member is permanently resident in”
This change will have no affect on club members who are already affiliated to a club from outside of their province. They will be still able to continue on with their current club indefinitely.
