The Irish Tug of War Association will be hosting the 2020 British and Irish Outdoor Tug of War Championships on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th August.
The weigh in taking place on Friday 7th August from 4-8 PM at the Longford Arms Hotel. Eircode N39FX26
The event will be held at The Army Barracks, Longford Town,
The Army Barracks 500 metres from the Longford Arms Hotel it is central to many shops and Restaurants.
As with previous British and Irish Championships, there will be an accreditation fee payable by all pullers / coaches excluding junior pullers of €25
The weigh-in will be held on Friday 7th August between 16-00 & 20-00 hours in the Longford Arms Hotel.
The Weigh in will be on individual Scales.
All clubs / nations attending the championships are asked to provide a list of pullers attending (to the best of their knowledge, and more rather than less) at least two weeks in advance to enable us to prepare the individual weigh in.
Friday 7th August Evening
B&I Commission Meeting
This will take place at 20.30hrs in the Longford Arms Hotel.
Teams Briefing will follow the Commission Meeting.
Saturday 8th August
Official opening and parade of teams – 09.30.hrs pulling will commence 10.00hrs.

The presentation of medals will take place at the Championship Dinner, which will be held at Longford Arms Hotel, Longford Town on the Saturday Night. Details of the Championship Dinner will be confirmed in due course.

Open Weights will be €30-00 per weight entry fee.
The main hotel that will be utilised for the championships for the weigh-in, briefings and championships dinner will be the Longford Arms Hotel. Accommodation can be booked directly with the Longford Arms Hotel Main Street Longford Town.

We have reserved all twin rooms at the hotel for competitors as well as double rooms, however the hotel will release all of these reserved rooms to the general public if they are not booked by 8th July (they will still be available to book after 8th July at the negotiated rate, however rooms cannot be guaranteed after this time). Teams are therefore advised to book their accommodation at the earliest opportunity. If booking a double/triple rooms, name the persons or a €10 charge will apply

A Carvery Dinner will be available on the Friday Evening from 4pm-8pm @ a cost of €10.95
Anybody that wishes to attend the Championship Dinner will need to apply for Tickets from the ITOWA. Cost will be €35 per person. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are staying outside of the Longford Arms Hotel and wish to attend the Championship Dinner, then we will need prior notification. There is a limit on the numbers for the Championship Dinner and additionally the Hotel would need a minimum of 1 weeks’ notice for those attending the dinner so that appropriate catering and seating can be provided. Therefore, if you wish to attend the dinner, then you need to advise us of your numbers no later than Friday 1st August 2020.

Travelling to Longford:
- Longford is only 1½ hours from Dublin Airport & Ferry Ports
- Train from Connolly station will bring you to Longford town with the hotel only a short distance from the station
- You can also get the Bus directly from Dublin Airport to Longford where the bus stops directly outside the hotel
- Knock Airport is only an hour away from Longford
- There is also bus services running from Knock Airport to Longford.
- If the pullers choose to drive to the Venue themselves there is ample parking both at the hotel and on the main street.
