Day 2 of outdoor National Championship

The Mighty Oaks hosted yesterdays event in Pilltown and the day didn’t disappoint with the sun shining through out , great competition and refreshments on hand.

The results from the day goes as follows

680kg Senior: G&B Gold – Boley Silver – Castlegregory Bronze. (7 teams competed)

680kg Novice: Mighty Oaks Gold – Mulcair Silver – Ladies Bronze. (3 teams competed)

510kg 6 a side: G&B Gold – Castlegregory Silver – Donoughmore Bronze. (7 teams competed)

Everyone can now take a well earned rest for the next couple of week and we hope to see you all on day 3 of the competition on 8th July in Carlow where the men will be competing for the 640Kg title.

 

Results from 1st National Championship

Sunday past the 720kg National pull was held at the Cork Summer show along with a open 6 aside 540kg.  10 Clubs in total competed they were: G&B, Ballinastoe, Boley, Donoughmore, Castlegregory, Mulcair, Mighty Oaks, Killenaule, Ladies, BBG.  The results from the day is as follows

 

Results:
720kg Senior: 8 teams competed.
G&B – Gold.
Boley – Silver.
Ballinastoe – Bronze.

 720kg Novice: 2 teams competed.
Mighty Oaks – Gold.
Mulcair – Silver.

540kg Open: 7 teams competed.
G&B – Gold.
Donoughmore – Silver.
Ballinastoe – Bronze.

Must have all your Members Registered and have your I.D. cards for weighing in and taking part in the competitions, this includes all Coaches, Assistants , Trainers.

You can Register and pay for your I.D card on the I.T.O.W.A. website before Friday 15th June in order to have your Cards for Sunday.

Results from Round 3 Participation & Performance League

Round 3 of the Participation & Performance league took place on Sunday 10th by Killenaule Tug of war club.

This new programme is developing nicely with all teams availing of youths and ladies on their teams. The Introduction of 3×3 mixed further increases participation of both, to help gain valuable experience.  The ground conditions were very good and the lovely sunshine had everyone in good form.  The hosts team Killenaule had great home support and were worthy winners on the day and a big thanks to all clubs and supporters

Seven clubs in total competed they were – Killenaule, Ballinastoe, Donoughmore, Castlegregory, Mighty Oaks, GnaC, & Ladies.

Results were –

480kg. – 1st Ballinastoe  2nd Donoughmore 2nd. (7 teams competed)

520kg. – 1st  Killenaule 2nd Mighty Oaks 2nd. (5 teams competed)

3×3. – 1st Killenaule 2nd Ballinastoe (4 teams competed)

There was very little between any of the teams, but the competition was tough and fair and it’s a great build up to the National Championships starting this weekend.
