The China Tug of War Association has extended an invitation to clubs for 2 tug of war events taking place in China this October. The first Tournament will provide a total prize money of 6,000USD, split between the Top 6 finishing teams. The local organising committee will provide accommodation and local transportation for all the participating teams(from 13 to 17 Oct), but the cost of flights must be paid for by the teams travelling. The Country Club Tug of War Team will be hosting the 2018 British & Irish Indoor Tug of War Championships on behalf of the Northern Ireland Tug of War Association, on the 9th – 11th Feb 2018.
They have planned a full programme over 2 days for Males, Females and Youth’s and would be delighted to see if a maximum number of teams could attend.
All clubs registered by the 1st Feb 2018 will receive a special commemorative plaque.
If possible could all clubs please book as early as possible. The primary facilities that will be used will have limited numbers.

The final event in this years domestic Outdoor calendar was held on Sunday at the Tullow Agricultural Show in Tullow, Co. Carlow. Round 5 of the National Outdoor Championship Series saw reigning Champions G&B successfully defend their 640kg title, defeating Mountain View in the Senior Final. Its been an up and down season for the club and following on from last years huge success was always going to be a difficult task. But they came back strongly from the disappointment in the World Games to win their 2nd title of the year, to add to the 720kg they won in Round 1 and they also took gold in the days other event, the Open 560kg. In the Novice division, GnaC finished out the season by winning the clubs 2nd Novice title in row.
An Irish squad travelled to last weekend’s British & Irish Championship which was held in Paisley, Scotland. Pullers travelled from Ballinastoe and B&K as well as from Mountain View and Ballinagh.

A draw is being held on Friday the 1st of September, to raise funds for the promotion of the 2020 World Indoor Championships in the Aura Leisure Centre, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal.
Can everyone who has sold lines please bring the cards and money to the 640kg Championship at the Tullow Agricultural show on August 20th. Danny McGonigle will be there to collect them.
All entrants must be aged over 18 and Clubs are not permitted to purchase tickets in their club name. Mountain Views fantastic season continued last Sunday at the 60th Annual Arva Show, when the club won both the National 600kg Championship and Open 680kg event. In doing so, they have become the only team to win multiple National Championships this year. With only 1 round of the National Outdoor Series left, Mountain View are on course to finish 2017 as the top outdoor club. GnaC won the clubs 1st outdoor title when they defeated Loughmore in the Novice final.
The 2nd round of the open youths league competition was contested by Ballinagh, GnaC, the Grove and Ballinastoe. The Grove came out on top of this round, ahead of Ballinagh, GnaC and Ballinastoe. That leaves The Grove sitting clear on top of the Continue reading
The World Games 2017 took place between 20–30 July in Wroclaw, Poland. The top 6 teams in the world qualified to take part in 3 Tug of War events ran over last Saturday and Sunday. The Women’s Indoor 540kg and the Men’s Outdoor 700kg were held last Saturday and the Men’s Outdoor 640kg was held on Sunday.
