Tug of War Ireland  are saddened to hear the death of Jim Curtis from Foulksmills Co Wexford.
Jim was a dedicated servant of the Sport of Tug of War in Ireland for several decades, a founder Member of the Irish Tug of War  Association in 1967 he was anchor with Clongeen Club at that time and  later joining the Boley Club,
He served as Vice Chairman  & Chairman of the Irish Tug of War Association, He also represented the Association on the Board of Tug of War international Federation   (T.W.I.F.)
However it was his role as Manager of the Irish  National Tug of War Teams  where  Jim Curtis managed   the coaching and selection  of Irish Teams through the most successful period in the Sports history  with many Gold medal winning performances  at  World Championships , European Championships  World Games. Jim created a winning environment for all his teams and a True Gentleman in life.   Our sympathies to his devoted wife Agnes and the Curtis Family,
