Clonmany B Win Their 2nd Title Of The Season

Last Sunday seen the teams travel north to Donegal, where Clonmany B hosted the 600kg All Ireland Championship. Mountain View, Clonmany B, Carndonagh, Cuan Rithe & Rockies all competed in this event.

Much to the delight of the spectators there was some excellent pulls in the round robin resulting in Clonmany B, Mountain View, Cuan Rithe & Carndonagh qualifying for the semi-finals.

The 2 Donegal teams, Clonmany B & Carndonagh faced each other in the first semi-final. Clonmany B, looking very strong, claimed both ends. Mountain View met Cuan Rithe in the 2nd semi final and a tough battle commenced. After battling hard, Cuan Rithe claimed the first end. However, Mountain View fought back to win the next 2 ends and their place in the final along side Clonmany B

Clonmany B went on to claim their 2nd gold of the season, winning the 600kg All Ireland final on home ground in 2 straight ends, proving too strong for Mountain View.

After a short rest, the open 420kg 5-a-side started. 6 teams competed in this competition, Clonmany B, Mountain View, Carndonagh, Cuan Rithe, Rockies and Stapletons. Yet again, Clonmany B proved too strong for their opposition and claimed the top spot. Carndonagh was in second with Mountain View in 3rd. The 2nd & final round of this league will be on Sunday at the 560kg All Ireland Championship
