Sport Ireland has undertaken a review of the current 2015 Irish Anti-Doping Rules (Rules). Pursuant to Article 18.1 of the Rules, Sport Ireland is now inviting Athletes and National Governing Bodies to make submissions to Sport Ireland in relation to the proposed amendments to the Rules.
In order to facilitate these submissions, please find the following two documents:
- Consultation Document: This document summarises the proposed amendments to the Irish Anti-Doping Rules and outlines the rationale behind these amendments.
- Irish Anti-Doping Rules 2015 Version 2.0: This is the proposed Version 2.0 of the Irish Anti-Doping Rules. Sport Ireland has provided a tracked version of changes between the current version (Version 1.0) and the proposed Version 2.0 of the Rules.
In addition, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) are currently in the process of updating the World Anti-Doping Code for 2021. Therefore, Sport Ireland welcomes comments from Athletes and National Governing Bodies in relation to the provisions of the current World Anti-Doping Code and its operations. Further information on the 2021 Code review can be found at www.wada-ama.org/en/what-we-do/the-code/2021-code-review.
Sport Ireland invites all written responses concerning the proposed Irish Anti-Doping Rules and the World Code to be sent to Siobhán Leonard (email@example.com), by July 4th 2018.
After the closing date for the consultation process, Sport Ireland will review the responses received and decide whether any further amendments need to be made the Rules. The amended Irish Anti-Doping Rules 2015 will be provided to the Board of Sport Ireland at its meeting in September 2018 to be finalised. It is anticipated that the amended rules will come into effect on 01 January 2019.
