Yesterday we held our first outing of our new Performance & Participation program where Mulcair hosted the days event of the 480kg and 540kg competitions.
We were very lucky with the weather, with the sun shining all day. It was a fantastic day, with a great turnout where 9 teams competed in the 480kg and 7 in the 540kg.
All pullers performing brilliantly, they displayed determination, perseverance and a great amount of effort in all pulls.
The comradery was great to see with some teams taking ladies and youths under their wing for the day. We even had an impromptu kid’s teams pulling who thought it was tremendous.
Mulcair won the 480kg with 3 new youth pullers on the team Shane Kett, Peter O’Regan and David McGuirk, the team ended their day celebrating their win in Josie Ryan’s.
Killenaule took 2nd place on the day, this is the first year in many that Killenaule is back out on the field with only 1 of the old team member.
The team is mostly made up of all new pullers and a lady. Well done on your first outing and claiming 2nd place.
The winners of the 540kg was Castlegregory and again another big achievement for Killenaule claiming 2nd place making it there 2nd win of the day.
The 2nd round will take place on Sunday 20th May in Loughmore. More details on this will follow in the coming week.
