A hugely successful Indoor World Championships saw Irish teams return home with a large medal haul, after being involved in the knockout stage of every single Senior men’s event across the week.
In the closed competitions, Ireland won 560kg Gold and took Bronze in the 640kg and 680kg events. Ireland finished 4th in the remaining closed competition, the 600kg.
In the open events, St. Pats went one better than they managed at the 2016 World Championships in Volendam, Netherlands. This time the club won all 4 of the senior men’s weights. Mountain View also won Bronze in the open 560kg competition to round out a very strong showing by all Irish participants in the Championships.
Congratulations to all the Mountain View and St. Pats members, along with the pullers from Clonmany and Carndonagh, who travelled to Xuzhou, China to take part and are now returning home as either first time medalists or multiple World Champions.
