There was a small turnout of clubs at the rescheduled national 560kg championships which took place in Buncrana on Sunday. The clubs who competed were Carndonagh, Clonmany, Gort na Cloiche and St Pats.
St Pats were looking to complete a clean sweep of national senior titles and they found themselves in the 560kg final after defeating GnaC in the semi final. Reigning world 560kg champions Mountain View were not in attendance therefore it was Carndonagh & Clonmany who faced each other in the other semi final. This was a close contest and the young Clonmany team put it up to their neighbours but it was Carndonagh who progressed to faced St Pats in the final. Carndonagh put up a strong performance in the final but the superiority of the St Pats men shone through as they completed their clean sweep with a straight end victory. Clonmany defeated GnaC to win the bronze medal.
