On Monday 25th of April, Helen Coyne, a member of the Irish Tug of War Association, visited Scoil Mhuire Robinstown, Navan, Co. Meath.

As part of their school’s Active Week , the children were getting an opportunity to try new and interesting sports.

Almost 90 children from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th class participated in a short information session about both Indoor and Outdoor Tug of War and got a chance to examine some of the gear involved. The class groups were split into teams and some great contests followed. A Tug of War rope was presented to the school and it is envisaged that Tug of War will certainly feature in future P.E. lessons and school sports events.

Thanks to school Principal Shane Foley for the warm welcome extended to the Irish Tug of War Association and to staff memebers Gerard Bradley, Fiona Breheny and Laura Kearns for their assistance and photographs.
