The clubs who attended the national championship in Donegal were Ballyhagan, Carndonagh, Clonmany, Cockhill, Country Club, Gort na Cloiche, Mountain View, St Pats & Rockies.
St Pats were aiming to win their fourth national senior title in a row in the 600kg competition. They got off to a good start topping their group. In the final they met Mountain View who were hoping to win revenge for their three previous defeats in finals this season. There was very little between the teams as Mountain View won the first end. They won a few meters of rope in the second end and began to run out of steam as they neared the line but showed huge determination to finish the job and take the gold medal. Mountain View’s second team contested the Div 2 final where they faced Rockies.
Rockies fought hard but it was the Louth team who won their second medal of the day with a straight end victory. Mountain View failed to win the clean sweep as Gort na Cloiche defeated them in the novice 375kg 5-a-side final. There was a great turnout of 10 team in the 375kg open 5-a-side competition. Once again we were delighted to welcome Ballyhagan and Country club from across the border who also competed in Lordship. Mountain View again were very strong in this competition with their two team coming first and third respectively. Local club, Cockhill won the silver medal.
