Lakehill pulled very well in yesterday’s 720kg open club championship to top their group. They then faced Ozoli from Latvia in the semi finals.
This was a tough contest which Lakehill eventually won by two ends to one. The Irish team then faced Lincoln from England in the final. The final was a close contest but Lakehill eventually ran out of steam loosing in straight ends so the English team took the gold medals. Well done to Lakehill on their silver medal.
G&B were the only Irish team to qualify for the knockout stages of the men’s 640kg, they finished runners-up in their group. This meant that they faced group winners Engelberg from Switzerland in the quarter final and the Irish team went on to loose this contest. Engelberg defeated their Swiss rivals Ebersecken in a great final to win the gold medal.
