Hard fought Bronze for Ireland in men’s 680kg

Ten countries competed in the men’s 680kg. Ireland fought hard to sneak into the semi finals.

They lost the semi final match-up to Switzerland and found themselves in a bronze medal match-up against Sweden. The Irish lads dug deep and went on to win the contest to bring home the bronze medal. The team was mostly made up of G&B pullers and three Boley pullers. Switzerland defeated Netherlands to win the gold medal.

Bancran were very impressive in the men’s 560kg representing Northern Ireland. The Derry lads defeated Switzerland in the final to win the gold medal. Ireland also entered the men’s 560kg, ladies 560kg, mixed 600kg and Junior 560kg. All teams did their best but fell well short of the standard on the day.
