Second indoor development session

Preparations for the 2014 World Indoor Tug of War Championships gathered momentum yesterday with additional clubs from the general Leinster / Connaught region sending members forward to train for the National Youth, Under 23s and Ladies Indoor panels.

The clubs who have attended to date are Ballinasloe, Boyneside, Canavans, Gort Na Cloiche, Killoughey, Kiltevna, Mountain View, Rathkeale, Rockies, Stapletons and Streamstown. Kindly hosted by Streamstown Tug of War Club at their state of the art training grounds ,the intense session led by Martin Egan and Helen Coyne saw the pullers put through their paces with gantry work, live pulling and strengthening drills aimed at building teamwork and skill.

The Association would like to thank Noel Higgins, Padraig Coyne, Lisa Daly and Anne Marie Doyle for their help with tasks throughout the morning along with the McCormack family, James Costello, all at the Beech Tree and all at Streamstown Tug of War Club who enabled a successful session. Thank you to all those who transported youths to the training morning, this support is recognised and appreciated.

The next training session is planned for 10am Sunday 8th December at Streamstown, Co.Westmeath. For further information, all youths and Under 23s pullers should contact Martin Egan 086 8376103 and Ladies should contact Helen Coyne on 086 8669278.
