640kg bronze medal for Boley in Assen

31 clubs competed in today’s 640kg competition which was run in four groups. Boyneside pulled well in their group finishing in fourth place with 12 points. Glenhill picked up 5 points in their group.

Lakehill pulled well in their group to finish runner-up with 18 points behind Valleitrekkers from the Netherlands. However, Lakehill were defeated by Veenseboys at the quarter final stage. Boley had a tough group which included Eberseken and Eibergen. The invincible Swiss team easily topped the group with Boley & Eibergen tied in second place with 16 points each and level on cautions but Boley made it through to the last eight on team weight. Boley also progressed to the semi final where they were defeated by Veenseboys in straight ends. This left the Irish team in a bronze medal pull off against Valleitrekkers. Boley produced a determined performance to come from an end down and a no pull to win the bronze medal in the deciding pull. The strong Eberseken team had to dig deep to defeat Veenseboys in the final as the Swiss team continue to bring the sport to a new level.
