Youth Development Structure
The Irish Tug of War Association realises that the future of Tug of War in Ireland depends solely on youth development and introducing the sport to athletes at an early age. The association has put a number of youth development plans in place to introduce the sport to primary school children. For the moment we are concentrating on the Dublin area but we hope to expand the project to the surrounding counties in the coming years. Click on the link below for more details.
The association are planning to bring a youth squad to the forthcoming GENSB games in Raalte, the Netherlands on the last weekend of August 2010. See the GENSB page for more details on the 2010 games and the youth development squad’s previous trips abroad .
The ITOWA has introduced a new mixed youth league for the 2010 outdoor season to help develop youths in the sport. All clubs are encouraged to enter a team. Schools and other youth teams can enter the league for a basic regristation fee of EUR50. Click here for details. Contact ITOWA Tutor, Eddie Fitzgerald for more details: 086-0636368
