A second Ulster open competition will be held in Bunnoe, Co. Cavan on Sunday the 3rd of June. Competition weights are 640kg and catchweight. Contact Ulster chairman, James Ward, for further information: 086 2179143.

The updated national outdoor fixtures can be found on the Fixtures page.

The number of rounds in youth 420kg 6-a-side league has been reduced to four, GENSB rules apply. One set of gold, silver & bronze medals will be presented at the end. U23 competitions have been reduced to 6-a-side to encourage participation. The three U23 competitions will be run on a league system will one set of gold, silver & bronze medals presented at the end.

New Ropes

Full length competition ropes have been ordered by the association, these ropes are from the same supplier that supplied the world indoors in Scotland, the wide spread view from those who where in Scotland was that these ropes are of excellent quality. The ropes are priced at €150 each, to purchase a rope please contact your provincial delegate or any member of the executive. Limited stock early purchase advised.

Judging course

A judging course will take place on Sunday the 13th of May in Edenderry, Co. Offaly. Anyone interested in becoming a referee or current referees interested in improving their grade should contact the secretary or one of their provincial delegates. TWIF president, Mr Cathal McKeever will judge the course. Exact venue and details will be communicated later.

Register of pullers

Many clubs have still not submitted their register of pullers forms. Reminder: pullers who are not registered with a club are not insured for training or competitions. Provincial boards should note that pullers who are not registered with a club should not be allowed to compete. Please ensure that each member’s name and address are printed clearly in block capital letters. Members must also sign the form. Completed forms should be sent to the Treasurer, details on the Contacts page.
