An Ulster open competition will take place on Sunday the 2nd of June at the Bunnoe festival, Co. Cavan. Competitions are men’s 640kg and catchweight. There will also be ladies and youth 6-a-side competitions. Weigh-in is from 11am – 12:30pm with first pull at 1pm. Further info from James Ward: 086 2179143.

The 2013 affiliation forms and individual members forms are now available to download at the Affiliate your club page.
As a result of the extremely difficult financial position the ITOWA finds itself in at present, the executive has decided to increase both the full and associate club membership fee for 2013, this increase is fundamental to the ongoing survival of the ITOWA. The fees will be reviewed again for 2014. The executive would like to request clubs support the Association in this difficult time. To ensure the recent development of ladies and youths Tug of War is maintained the affiliation fee for ladies and youth only clubs will remain at €100.
Full Membership €450
Associate membership €270
There is a slight change in the register of pullers forms where the member must enter their telephone number and email address if applicable. This is to enable the registrar to build up a proper register of all members of the association. Please ensure that all club members name, address, telephone no. & email address are printed in block capital letters. Please ensure that all members sign the register of pullers form where indicated.

This year’s edition of the National Awards to Volunteers in Irish Sport was launched at the Aviva Stadium recently. The awards will honour eleven individuals who are representative of the 450,000 adults who volunteer their time and effort to sport in Ireland each year through their involvement with sports clubs and organisations.
We would like to encourage you to nominate someone for one of these awards. He or she may be a coach or trainer who helped develop your club and keep it active over the years.

All judges that took their respective exams recently passed the course. The executive would like to congratulate these individuals.
An inter provincial 600kg will take place after the nationals in Dundalk on the 24th of June. This will be the first of up to 3 inter provincials taking place.
Each province is expected to select their best team at each weight, mixing of clubs is allowed but all pullers competing must be affiliated to a club. The competition is being run to assist the national selectors in formulating the squad for the upcoming world championships in Switzerland. On completion of the event, the national selectors may mix teams and have a few extra pulls, if they so wish.

Full length competition ropes have been ordered by the association, these ropes are from the same supplier that supplied the world indoors in Scotland, the wide spread view from those who where in Scotland was that these ropes are of excellent quality. The ropes are priced at €150 each, to purchase a rope please contact your provincial delegate or any member of the executive. Limited stock early purchase advised.

Congratulations to Mr. Dan McCarthy who was elected President elect of the association at yesterday’s AGM in Tullamore. Dan will take up the President’s office at next year’s AGM. Congratulations also to Mr. Niall Kilrane who was elected as Treasurer and to Mr. Dave Collins who was elected as Secretary. Best of luck to Niall & Dave who took office yesterday. Affiliation forms and Register of puller forms should be sent to the new Treasurer.

Clubs who do not have access to printing facilities can request to have a form posted to them by contacting the secretary.
The AGM will take place on the 25th of March in the Tullamore Court Hotel at 2pm.
Note: Clubs with only ladies members or youth members may register for a reduced fee of €100 as these areas are still in development phase.
